A judge denies Julianna's motion to drop a lawsuit which was launched by her former management company D/F Management over alleged $420,000 unpaid commission fee.

AceShowbiz - "The Good Wife" actress Julianna Margulies apparently needs to prepare herself for a trial against her former management company D/F Management over $420,000 in claimed commission after her motion to drop the lawsuit was rejected by a judge on Tuesday, June 25. The company filed the lawsuit last year, alleging the actress severing their partnership without paying commission.
The firm of Steve Dontanville claimed that Julianna had to pay 10 percent commission fee from what she gets from shows. The management company also said that she would need to pay commission fee for project deals when they were still working with her, such as her role as a spokesperson for L'Oreal and securing a spot on CBS' legal drama "The Good Wife".
"We are pleased, but not surprised, by the judge's well-reasoned decision rejecting Ms. Margulies' effort to dismiss. My clients are disappointed that she reneged on her agreement and filed a meritless motion. We look forward to the trial in October," said the plaintiff's attorney, Mathew Rosengart, after the Tuesday hearing as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.
Sheldon Eisenberg, the attorney for Julianna, said that he was "disappointed" by the the failure of the summary judgment motion. The judge also declined to rule firmly in regards to which state law would apply on the case.
Last week, the judge gave Julianna a chance to pursue a defense based on fact that there is no written agreement between the two parties. She sought to apply the statute of frauds, in which written agreement are required in negotiations. However, the law differs from state to state. Her attempt apparently was not strong enough to make the judge favor her.
