The widow of Kurt Cobain reveals that the rapper's upcoming album uses some lyrics from the legendary band's hit, 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'.

AceShowbiz - Jay-Z's "Magna Carta Holy Grail" will have some lyrics from Nirvana's hit single, "Smells Like Teen Spirits". "I'm letting Jay-Z use lyrics -Francis would freak [if she knew this]," Courtney Love, the widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, says in an interview with The Huffington Post.

"Jay-Z's huge and we're friends. I mean we're not besties or anything," Love, who owns the entire Nirvana catalog, continues. She goes on explaining that the rapper used the lyrics first and asked for permission later, saying, "They [used it] without asking, which is kind of nervy." However, it's not a problem anymore since "the business side has been taken care of so it's fine."

Love doesn't explain any details of how or where the Nirvana lyrics are being used. Fans with Samsung Galaxy phones will find out when "Magna Carta Holy Grail" arrives on July 4. The album will feature appearances from Rick Rubin, Timbaland, Pharrell Williams, and Swizz Beatz.

In the interview, Love also has a talk about her musical career. The singer tells the news outlet that she is currently working on her second solo album. The follow up to 2004's "America's Sweetheart" will be out around Christmas. Saying that she's been approached by several major labels, Love plans to work with an indie label instead.

"Look at Queens of the Stone Age and Matador... If you were to tell me in the past that Matador would have a No. 1 record, I would've laughed," she says of her decision. "The problem with majors is they don't know what to do with rock. It's funny hip hop is still really, really dominant. It hasn't died down."
