Black Sabbath Tops Billboard 200 for the First Time With '13'

Ozzy Osbourne's band scores their first number 1 album on the chart after their latest album sells 155,000 copies.

Nearly 43 years after debuted on the Billboard 200, they earned their first No. 1 album at Billboard hot 200 on Wednesday, June 19. The -led band sits atop the esteemed chart after their latest studio release, "", sells 155,000 copies in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. This also marks the band's biggest sales week to date.

Before "13", Black Sabbath had never made it to the chart's No. 1. Their 1971 work, "Master of Reality", peaked at No. 8. "The news is absolutely amazing - we couldn't have imagined this would happen," guitarist and founding member Tony Iommi said in a statement of the band's chart-topping album.

"There have been so many amazing highlights in our long career. To finally have our first No. 1 album in the U.S. is another incredible milestone for Black Sabbath," frontman Osbourne added. "Thank you to all of our fans for their support and loyalty."

Standing strong at No. 2 is . The duo's "" has their second week in the runner-up slot with 48,000. The album has a total of 543,000 copies sold since its release on May 18.

From last week's No. 9, 's "" goes up to No. 3 with 35,000. Behind Timberlake is , whose "" debuts at No. 4 with 35,000. Last week's eighth placer, 's "", rises to No. 5 with 33,000.

At No. 6 and No. 7, 's "" and 's "" have sold 33,000 and 31,000 respectively. Meanwhile, debuts at No. 8 as their "" sells 29,000 in its first week. "Magnetic" is the band's fourth album which has made it to the top 10.

Debuting in the ninth place this week is the soundtrack of "". Composed by Hans Zimmer, the soundtrack has sold 29,000. Comedy trio 's "" rounds up the top 10 with 28,000.

Last week's No. 1, 's "", plunged to No. 15 this week with 24,000 copies.
