Following the footsteps of country music artists like Blake Shelton, the rockers now step up to raise funds for the victims of the tornado.

AceShowbiz - Oklahoma natives Kings of Leon and The Flaming Lips lead the line-up of rock acts that will perform in the "Rock for Oklahoma" benefit concert to be held on July 23 in Oklahoma City. Along with veteran rockers Jackson Browne and Built to Spill, they will be sharing the stage of the Chesapeake Energy Arena, the same venue where Blake Shelton's "Healing in the Heartland" fundraising concert took place last month.

"We couldn't be more proud to lend a hand to home state," said Kings of Leon's bassist Jared Followill. "This is the least we could do." The rock band, who originated in Talihina, Oklahoma, will be playing for neighboring city Moore, which was badly hit by the F5 tornado, leaving behind 24 people dead and $2 billion in damages to property.

The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne echoed the same sentiments, "This is our home and they are us and we are them." He added that they would be there for the long haul, saying, "Shakespeare said 'It is not enough to help the needy up, but to support them after' and in our small way we are trying to not just be here at the moment of immediate need, but to stay and help with the rebuilding."

More performers will be announced in the coming weeks. Proceeds from the show will go to central Oklahoma community organizations and charities.
