'Killing Season' Trailer: John Travolta and Robert De Niro Torture Each Other

Travolta shows off his Serbian accent for his portrayal of Emil Kovac in the Mark Steven Johnson-directed film, which also stars Milo Ventimiglia.

AceShowbiz - "Killing Season" finally unleashes its first trailer that totally lives up to its name. Featuring leading men John Travolta and Robert De Niro, the video highlights intense fighting between the two veteran actors' characters in the remote Smoky mountain wilderness. Additionally, it offers fans such rare chance to hear Travolta tackling a Serbian accent.

The upcoming action film introduces De Niro as American military veteran Benjamin Ford living in a remote cabin in the woods. Striking up an unlikely friendship with European tourist Emil Kovac (Travolta), Ford soon discovers that Kovac is a Serbian soldier bent on revenge. The two then go toe-to-toe across the grueling Appalachian mountain landscape.

Mark Steven Johnson, who helmed and wrote Ben Affleck's "Daredevil, The Movie" and Nicolas Cage's "Ghost Rider", directs "Killing Season" based on Evan Daugherty's screenplay. Ed Cathell III, Anthony Rhulen and John Thompson serve as producers for the Nu Image/Millenium film.

Milo Ventimiglia also stars in the film for supporting role along with Elizabeth Olin.

Previously titled "Shrapnel", it was originally considered a follow-up to Travolta and Cage's "Face Off" with John McTiernan of "Die Hard" eyeing at as a directing vehicle.

"Killing Season" will open across the United States on July 12.
