Amanda Bynes on Track to Becoming a Hip-Hop Artist

The troubled actress may yet realize her dream of becoming a recording artist via Chinga Chang Records.

AceShowbiz - Actress Amanda Bynes may well be on the verge of a very public meltdown but Chinga Chang Records is still banking on her as their next big hip-hop star. The record label is keen on signing up the 27-year-old distressed celebrity into a record deal, despite the fact that she is a completely untested talent in terms of a career in music.

"The fact that Amanda wants to do hip hop music means that Chinga Chang label is the best place for her to do this," Daniel Herman, spokesman for Chinga Chang Records, explained the premise for the deal to give Bynes her first solo record. The tweet-shooting artist first expressed interest in dabbling in music via her Twitter posts, where she also posts photos of herself topless.

The topless photos got the attention of Playboy, who also offered Bynes a job, much like Chinga Chang is taking her on for her desire to become a recording artist. The Playboy job was not what people will normally expect but rather a hosting job for a daily, hour-long radio show, which Bynes had apparently already declined in light of her recording deal.

If signing up the self-obsessed Bynes raises doubts as to Chinga Chang's reputation as a record label, its ties with The Orchard and Sony Entertainment lend it some added credibility, apart from its status as the label who handled Haylie Duff, Hilary Duff's sister.
