The 'Walking Dead' and 'Vampire Diaries' actress has allegedly voiced her protests against gun control measures by sending ricin letters to Mr. President and NYC mayor.

AceShowbiz - Shannon Richardson, who has appeared on "The Walking Dead" and "The Vampire Diaries", made headlines for the wrong reason. She was arrested in Arkansas Friday, June 7 in connection to ricin-laced letters sent to President Barack Obama and New York mayor Michael Bloomberg.

The mother of five, whose complete name is Shannon Rogers Guess Richardson, initially informed authorities that the toxic mails were sent by her husband, army veteran Nathaniel Richardson. However, after an investigation by FBI, it's found out that it was her, not her husband, who sent the dangerous packages.

The letter sent to the mayor contained strong protests against gun control. "You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns," it read. "Anyone who wants to come to my house will get shot in the face. The right to bear arms is my constitutional God given right and I will exercise that right till the day I die."

Besides sending the letters to the President and the NYC mayor, Shannon allegedly mailed the toxic correspondence to the director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, Mark Glaze. All letters were postmarked May 20. The ones sent to Obama and Bloomberg were halted at a routine mail screening, while the other sent to Glaze was opened.

Charges against her will be filed later soon.
