The 'Sex and the City' fashionista is designing shoes, bags and trenches with the help of Manolo Blahnik's CEO George Malkemus.

AceShowbiz - Sarah Jessica Parker is expanding her career into fashion business venture. The actress famous for her role as fashionista Carrie Bradshaw in "Sex and the City" teams up with George Malkemus, the CEO of Manolo Blahnik, to design shoes, bags and trench coats with reasonable price.

"In a silly way, I think it's what people have expected of me most because of Carrie Bradshaw," she tells Vogue of her stylish character. "Because I got to play that role, I wore a lot of shoes and by default I learned an enormous amount. It's hard to" - no pun intended - "walk away from that."

Her SJP line is expected to be made available for purchase at Nordstrom early next year. "It's sort of soup to nuts," she gushes. "You put on a shoe and you put on a coat and you wear a bag and, on the outside, when you're walking down the street, they really can tell the same story about yourself."

The goal is to offer something different. "We're putting new colors together that people don't typically do, just beautiful combinations that you wish existed in your closet," she explains. "And in terms of bags, thinking about that period of the seventies into the eighties, what those women were carrying, taking away the bells and the whistles and hardware and really making it about the bag."

The shoes will be a variety of simple pumps and flats that will range from around $200 to $300. Meanwhile, bags will likely sell for under $700.
