HBO's 'Eastbound and Down' to End After Four Seasons

The fourth and final season of the Danny McBride-starring comedy will debut on September 29.

AceShowbiz - The fourth season of "Eastbound & Down" will be the last for the show. Though HBO hoped that the show would continue beyond the upcoming run, the network has confirmed that the cult hit will conclude with the forthcoming installment.

In a press release, the premium cable channel announces that production for the final chapter will begin Friday, June 7 in North Carolina for a scheduled premiere on Sunday, September 29 at 10 P.M.. ET/PT. The story will pick up four years after the events in the third season finale, with Danny McBride's Kenny living the American Dream with his family in North Carolina.

"Eastbound & Down" was initially thought to end after the third season, but HBO managed to convince star/creator McBride as well as executive producers Jody Hill, Will Ferrell, Chris Henchy and Adam McKay to make more episodes of the comedy series.

The fourth season of "Eastbound & Down" will help launch new series "Hello Ladies" on September 29 at 10:30 P.M. Also on the same day, "Boardwalk Empire" will return with a fourth season at 9 P.M. HBO additionally sets the premiere date of Larry David's film "Clear History" for August 10.
