Jennifer Lawrence to Make Debut as Producer and Star in 'The Rules of Inheritance'
Movie

The film from FilmNation will reunite the Katniss Everdeen of 'The Hunger Games' with her 'Serena' director, Susanne Bier.

AceShowbiz - Jennifer Lawrence takes a double duty in FilmNation's upcoming project, "The Rules of Inheritance". The 22-year-old actress is set to not only star in it, but also serve as a producer for the first time. She will team up once again with director Susanne Bier, who serves behind the lens for Lawrence and Bradley Cooper's next film "Serena".

The film is based on Claire Bidwell Smith's memoir about a young woman who loses both her parents to cancer. Alone and vulnerable, she ventures on a journey where she eventually finds her true self. Scribe Abi Morgan of "The Iron Lady" comes aboard with Bruce Cohen co-producing it alongside Lawrence.

"We are thrilled to be working with the dream team of Jennifer Lawrence, Susanne Bier, Abi Morgan and Bruce Cohen," FilmNation CEO Glen Basner and production chief Aaron Ryder say in a joint statement. "We have no doubt that this inspirational and hopeful book will be turned into an emotionally powerful movie that audiences around the world will fall in love with."

Producer Cohen also says, "Jennifer, Susanne, Abi and I are incredibly excited to be working on this extraordinary project together. We all believe this film can strike a deeply resonant chord with audiences, just as Claire's riveting memoir has."

Lawrence has wrapped up "The Devil You Know", which is set for a July 9 release in the U.S. "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire", her next chapter as Katniss Everdeen, will open nationwide on November 22.
