The action crime film from Warner Bros. introduces Hawke as Brent Magna, who is forced by a situation to take Gomez with him on a mission to save his kidnapped wife.

AceShowbiz - A first trailer for Courtney Solomon and Yaron Levy's "Getaway" has made its way out online, featuring Ethan Hawke and Selena Gomez as two strangers who meet at a completely bad time. Showing off Hawke's great talent behind the wheel, the promo video gives glimpses of how the two unlikely partners cooperate under intense pressure.

The Warner Bros. film centers on a former race car driver named Brent Magna (Hawke), who is pitted against the clock. Desperately trying to save the life of his kidnapped wife, Brent commandeers a custom Shelby Cobra Mustang, taking it and its unwitting owner (Gomez) on a high-speed race against time, at the command of the mysterious villain holding his wife hostage.

In an interview with Collider, Gomez gushed that the filming was "awesome" and described her co-star as "incredible." The 20-year-old singer and actress then said, "He [Hawke] just would tell me stories about the previous projects that he's been a part of ... I remember writing down so many notes and things that he would say because he was really supportive and obviously amazingly talented. It was really fun."

Gritty and heart-pounding, "Getaway" also stars Jon Voight as the antagonist. Joining the cast for supporting roles are Paul Freeman, Bruce Payne, Rebecca Budig, Maria Bobeva and Lena Milan.

Sean Finegan and Gregg Maxwell Parker serve as scribes for the film. On board to produce it alongside Solomon are Moshe Diamant, Christopher Milburn and Bobby Ranghelov.

"Getaway" is set to race in theaters nationwide on August 30.
