Chris Brown Releases His Version of Mario's 'Somebody Else'
Music

Breezy says the emotional tune belonged to him first before Mario recently recorded it with Nicki Minaj.

AceShowbiz - Fellow R'n'B singer Mario may have recorded it ahead of him but the new single "Somebody Else" is reportedly somebody else's song first and that person is Chris Brown. The 24-year-old entertainer drops his own version of the Nicki Minaj-assisted track for the meantime while his team works on the paperwork for his single "They Don't Know" which samples Aaliyah's vocals.

Brown provides the soulful vocals on the Polow Da Don-produced track, smoothening out the drum beat-heavy tune. Known not only for his singing prowess but also for his rhyming skills, Breezy needs no backing from other MCs as he takes on the rap verse by himself on this track, which Minaj handles for Mario in his own version.

And while it's Brown who usually is the one leaving the ladies behind, specifically bouncing back and forth between old flame Rihanna and second lover Karrueche Tran, Breezy pours out the betrayed emotions realistically in the song. It does sound lifelike when he kicks off the track with "I never saw the day coming / That you would ever wanna leave me / Baby, you told me no matter what / Your heart would always be for me."

Brown is set to perform at this year's BET Awards on June 30 before he releases his forthcoming sixth album "X" on July 16. In between working on his own music, the R'n'B/hip-hop superstar managed to squeeze in Jennifer Lopez's tenth album in his itinerary, fast tracking it for a summer release date.
