The As I Lay Dying rocker gets released from jail after posting a hefty bail in a case that alleged he attempted to hire someone to kill his estranged wife.

AceShowbiz - Tim Lambesis has left jail after being arrested on May 7 for allegedly trying to hire a hitman to kill his estranged wife, Meggan. The As I Lay Dying frontman was released from a San Diego County jail Thursday, May 30 after posting a hefty $2 million bail.

The 32-year-old rocker has been charged with one count of solicitation to commit murder and one count of conspiracy to commit a crime. Prosecutors initially asked his bail be set at $20 million, claiming that the defendant was both a flight risk and a danger to the public.

His bail was eventually set at $3 million because he has ties across the United States and outside the country, but a judge later agreed to cut it down to $2M. Upon his release, he has to wear a GPS monitoring device, surrender his passport, and stay away from his wife and their children.

Lambesis allegedly gave an undercover agent, posing as a hitman, $1,000 in cash along with Meggan's pictures, address and security gate code to her house to commit the slaying. He also gave the detective dates of when he wanted the man to carry out the plan.

Before meeting with the undercover agent, Tim reportedly told a gym patron on April 23 and again on April 24 that he wanted his wife killed. He allegedly complained that she was making it difficult for him to see their children and impossible to settle their divorce.

Lambesis pled not guilty to the charges. His lawyer Thomas Warwick says in his defense, "His thought processes were devastatingly affected by his steroid use." He could face up to nine years in jail if convicted.

Due to the ongoing case, his band cancelled their tour.
