The Art Howe of 'Moneyball' reveals his drug problems came back after his use of prescription pills escalates to snorting heroin.

AceShowbiz - It's just revealed that Philip Seymour Hoffman went into relapse after kicking his drug addiction for 23 years. The "Moneyball" actor sought treatment in a detox facility on the East Coast and checked out last Friday, May 24 after staying for 10 days.

The 45-year-old actor tells TMZ he fell off the wagon more than a year ago. It began with prescription pills before escalating to snorting heroin. A week into heroin use, he quickly realized that things had gone out of control and he needed help to make it stop.

The "Capote" male lead credits "a great group of friends and family" for supporting and getting him the help he desperately needed to go back on the right track. Now that he's sober, he returns to work filming a new movie set in Europe.
