The Maroon 5 lead singer says he's comfortable in his own skin and embraces his flaws including his tendency to say something without forethought.

AceShowbiz - Hot on heels of controversy surrounding his "I hate this country" remark on "The Voice", an excerpt of Adam Levine's interview with CBS Sunday Morning surfaces. During the chat, the singer admits he can be "impulsive" with his words sometimes.

The Maroon 5 frontman explains, "I'm very much okay with who I am and comfortable in my skin enough to embrace that even though I don't say everything the right way and you know, tend to be a bit impulsive with some of the words that I select."

The interview is set to air Sunday, June 2. During the occasion, Levine also recalls his high school days. He remembers being "embarrassed" to be interested in music. "I thought it was stupid," he dishes on. "All my friends were jocks, you know, so I was so un-cool I hid it from everybody."

Levine blurted, "I hate this country" after losing two proteges at once on "The Voice" recently. As his comment drew criticisms on the social media, he tweeted the definition of "joke," "humorless," "lighthearted" and "misunderstand" to help explain that he meant no harm with his comment.
