The grumpy kitty, voted Meme of the Year at the 2013 Webby Awards, will speak in the family-friendly comedy dubbed ' 'Garfield'-like feature film.'

AceShowbiz - Garfield days are over as Grumpy Cat comes and steals the spotlight from him now. The web sensation kitty from Arizona is confirmed to have inked a deal with Broken Road Productions for an untitled Grumpy Cat movie. Tardar Sauce, the cat's real name, not only lands an exclusive contract, but also gets partners to act opposite. Deadline learns that Will Ferrell and Jack Black are on board to co-star.

The film itself is described as a " 'Garfield'-like feature film." Todd Garner, who serves as a co-producer, is confident that it will be a hit. "This started off as a picture of a cat, but rare is an image that evokes that much comedy," he said. "You read all of the memes and the comments, and one is funnier than the next. We think we can build a big family comedy around this character."

Grumpy Cat's manager Ben Lashes and rep Al Hassas will join forces with Garner and Sean Robins to produce the family-friendly pic. Mark Steilen is hired to provide the screenplay.

Grumpy Cat, the Meme of the Year at this year's Webby Awards, will have "the power of speech." Fans have made their choices of who should provide the voice for the cat. Even though the famous frowning feline is a female, several names of male celebs surface as fans' favorites. Among them are Simon Cowell, Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson.
