Kanye West's 'Yeezus' Won't Be Available for Pre-Order

Yeezy announces through a 'polite' flyer that his new album won't be available for purchase until the June 18 release.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West fans eagerly wanting to get their hands on his forthcoming new album might get disappointed with the latest announcement from the camp of the rap superstar. It appears his sixth LP "Yeezus" won't be made available for pre-order, contrary to the pre-order page that went up online last week on iTunes and on the artist's own website KanyeWest.com only to be taken down soon after.

The image bearing the short, straightforward announcement used the cover artwork for the upcoming album of a CD with a red "Yeezus" label minus the melted gold blob in the center, with the caption, "Yeezus new album from Kanye West, no pre order, please purchase June 18." It was posted on Twitter by one of West's creative collaborators, French designer Jean Touitou.

The no pre-orders tactic was something that West adapted when he released his collaborative studio album with Jay-Z, "Watch the Throne". The chart-topping album was released without any pre-orders, no preview streams and no leaks, but went on to both become a critical and commercial success, earning multiple Grammy nominations and getting certified platinum.

West has thus far previewed two tracks from "Yeezus"; "New Slaves" and "Black Skinhead", via a live musical guest performance on the hit weekly TV comedy show "Saturday Night Live" two weeks ago. The "New Slaves" video is being projected globally by West, whose recent scheduled screenings in Houston have gotten into some trouble, with one being shut down by police and the other running into technical difficulties.
