Amanda Bynes' Drug Case Dropped

The former Nickelodeon star, who was arrested last week for allegedly throwing bong from her apartment window, is freed after cops find no drug at the actress' residence.

AceShowbiz - Amanda Bynes proved she was innocent after having her drug case dropped since there was no hard evidence that she was ever in the possession of marijuana, TMZ reported. An NYPD official told the site that cops found no marijuana at Bynes' home.

Bynes was arrested last week for allegedly throwing a "drug paraphernalia" from her apartment window. When cops came to Bynes' home, they said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana. However, it appeared no drugs were recovered.

The police did not find the bong she allegedly threw out of the window during their initial search of Bynes' home. Since the bong remained undetected for days, the chain of custody was broken. The one, which was found on Monday, May 27, on Bynes' sub roof, will most likely not be evidence. Even if cops tried to charge Bynes with reckless endangerment by throwing something out the window, there is no physical evidence of what was thrown.

Bynes has been constantly declaring that she is innocent. A few days ago, she said on Twitter that she was "allergic to alcohol and marijuana." She also revealed her plan to sue NYPD for the mistaken arrest.

"I'm suing NYPD for illegally entering my apartment, lying about drugs on me and lying about me tampering with non existent drug paraphernalia," she tweeted. "I'm also suing my apartment complex for lying about me smoking in my building. I'm free forever! You can't lock up an innocent person! Thanks for caring!"

She also later denied the accusation that she threw anything from her apartment. "NOTHING was thrown out the window! I didn't throw anything out of the window!" she said.
