The 'Your Body Is a Wonderland' singer posts a video that sees him in a studio to record the follow-up to his 'Born and Raised' album.

AceShowbiz - John Mayer announced that he went back in the studio for his sixth studio album. In a message posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday, May 28, he wrote, "John is recording his 6th studio album. Check back every Tuesday for more Studio Session videos to see what's going on behind the scenes."

The message came along with a short video that sees the 35-year-old crooner in a studio where he adjusts an amp, shows off his pedals collection and plays his guitar. The video also includes a snippet of what can be Mayer's new song.

Mayer took a long break from music following throat surgery which silenced him for months. He made his comeback appearance at a benefit show for firefighters in Bozeman, Montana, last January. Recently, he and Brad Paisley hit the stage at the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards.

In March, Mayer announced his first tour in three years. "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips will join him as the opener. Mayer will do 40 shows in four months. The tour kicks off next June 6 in Milwaukee and ends in Los Angeles next October.

Mayer still has another good news to share. Two months after breaking up with Katy Perry for the second time, he is close to getting back with the "Hot and Cold" singer. On Monday, May 27, he was seen at Perry's new Hollywood Hills home for a barbecue party.

A source told Us Weekly that the couple did "seem to be back together -or back together-ish." "They were very flirty and having a really good time together. They have good chemistry," the source continued.
