The Ralph voice actor reportedly has been offered to star as Rhomann Dey in Zoe Saldana-starring flick.

AceShowbiz - John C. Reilly might land a role in the upcoming sci-fi action flick from director James Gunn. The voice actor of Ralph in "Wreck-It-Ralph" is said to have been approached to star in "Guardians of the Galaxy" as Rhomann Dey a.k.a. Nova Prime, the former leader of the Nova Corps of Xandar in the comics.

Breaking the news first, HitFix reports that the role offered to the "Carnage" actor has "been designed as the Agent Coulson, ... the human agent who serves as a go-between, keeping the Guardians in line and reporting to SHIELD about their activities."

The site then adds that 48-year-old Reilly will "have a peer, someone who is their liaison for the Guardians, and Marvel is looking at names as disparate as Hugh Laurie, Alan Rickman and Ken Watanabe for that part."

Regardless of which character the actor is eventually offered, Reilly will be teaming up with Zoe Saldana and Chris Pratt if the claim is true and he agrees to close all deals. Saldana is on board to play Gamora and Pratt will lead the film as Star-Lord.

Saldana, meanwhile, has recently expressed her interest in knowing what kind of costume she will sport for her green-skinned character. "I'm curious. That's what I want I start to check out, too: Am I going to wear leather? Is it going to be spandex? How's my hair going to look?" she tells USA Today.

The "Star Trek Into Darkness" actress then admits that such guessing game is actually what makes her "all excited" about the project, which she dubs "an unknown territory."

"Guardians of the Galaxy" is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on August 1, 2014.
