The 'Heart Attack' singer opts out taking painkillers when she has the surgery that is planned later this summer.

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato is having a surgery this summer, so she says. The former "Camp Rock" actress tells MTV News that she is going under the knife to remove her tonsils.
"Actually, this summer I have to get my tonsils out," the "Heart Attack" singer reveals. She additionally says, "I'm gonna do it without painkillers though because I'm a boss!"
Dealing with pain without painkillers is not something new for Demi. The 20-year-old singer, who triumphantly beat her addiction issues, once got her wisdom teeth removed and nursed a broken foot without any analgesic-drug help.
While she's not performing, Demi will be busy mentoring the third season of "The X Factor (US)". She's back as a judge along with Simon Cowell. The two are joined by two new female judges Kelly Rowland and Paulina Rubio.
