The 'Harry Potter' actress tries to 'understand the psychology' of her character who is described as a fame-obsessed teen.

AceShowbiz - Emma Watson reveals her inspiration to prepare for her role as a fame-obsessed teen in "The Bling Ring", a movie based on a real story of a group of teens who robbed celebrities' homes. She tuned in to "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" to help her make a convincing performance in the film.

Besides watching the Kardashian family followed by cameras on daily basis, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" star drew inspiration from MTV's show "The Hills" that follows the lives of several young women in Los Angeles to understand what's in her character's mind.

"I watched a lot of 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' and 'The Hills', and I tried to understand the psychology of this kind of girl as much as possible," the British actress explained to reporters at the Cannes Film Festival. "I didn't want [my character] to be just a parody."

Another challenge she's facing to make her on-screen performance believable is nailing the American West Coast accent. "The accent was hard as it was a particular kind of dialect," she dished on. "I also thought a lot about what her parents must have been like."

Although robbery is in the plotline, "this really isn't a heist movie," the brunette beauty claimed. "It was about how these kids wanted to pretend for just two hours or so that they were actually Paris Hilton and living that life."

Directed by Sofia Coppola, "The Bling Ring" got its premiere at the Cannes Film Fest on May 15 before starting its viewing in theaters across the country on June 14. Since it's based on true events of robberies taking place at celebrities' homes, there will be a cameo from real-life victim Hilton and A-list stars like Kirsten Dunst.
