Relativity Media reportedly withdraws its offer for "Thor" star Tom Hiddleston as the studio now has another actor in mind to lead "The Crow". Deadline reports that "Zoolander" star Alexander Skarsgard is eyed to take the role of Eric Draven.

The studio seems to have issues of finding the perfect man to play the lead role, which was made famous by the late Brandon Lee. Mark Wahlberg, James McAvoy and Bradley Cooper were once rumored to be offered the role. "White House Down" star Channing Tatum was also said to be the potential candidate.

Based on the 1989 comic book of the same name by James O'Barr, "The Crow" follows rock musician Eric Draven, who rises from the grave to take revenge on the thugs, who killed him and his fiancee. It was first brought on screen by director Alex Proyas in 1994.

Spanish director F. Javier Gutierrez will serve as the helmer of the remake film, while Jesse Wigutow will help provide the screenplay. Serving as the producers are Edward R. Pressman, Jeff Most and Ryan Kavanaugh.

The production of the film, which is executive produced by Tucker Tooley, Harvey and Bob Weinstein and Dan Farah, is expected to begin this fall.
