The Great Gatsby

Release date: May 10  'The Great Gatsby' presents America's 'mad, twisted love story'

Looking for a movie with some depth to it? "The Great Gatsby" may be a perfect fit for you. This film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's considerably best work will take its audience back to the Roaring Twenties to present America's "mad, twisted love story". It promises visually stunning scenes with Baz Luhrmann, the maverick director behind "Moulin Rouge!" and "Romeo+Juliet", taking the helm, and superb acting from a star-studded cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan. Adding to the mix is Academy Award winner Catherine Martin who is giving her glitz and glam touch to the luscious sets and costumes.

Star Trek Into Darkness

Release date: May 17  Captain Kirk leads a deadly manhunt in this 'Star Trek' sequel

Outgunned and outnumbered, Captain James T. Kirk and his USS Enterprise crew return to the big screen with more explosive action-adventure in space this summer. Three years after the box-office success of "Star Trek", Chris Pine and many others from the 2009 cast reunite with director J.J. Abrams for a darker sequel, "Star Trek Into Darkness". Fans can look forward to seeing more bromance between Kirk and Spock, while movie lovers can expect an epic chess game of life and death. All in all, get ready to be captivated by "Sherlock" actor Benedict Cumberbatch as he delivers his best portrayal of a cold and perfectly detached villain.

The Hangover Part III

Release date: May 24  The Wolfpack is back in Las Vegas for the final part of opera of mayhem

Get ready for another dose of the Hangover's madness! Having going through two bachelor parties gone wrong, the Wolfpack gets together once again in "The Hangover Part III". This time around, trouble comes when Phil and his buddies hit the road after the death of Alan's father. Being the final installment of the trilogy, its plot breaks away from the forgotten night formula. Director Todd Phillips, however, promises to present fans with "a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions." And, as the adventure is taken back to the city where it all started, the Leslie Chow depicter Ken Jeong gushed, "Just expect a lot of mayhem."

Man of Steel

Release date: June 14  Expect to see a Superman you've never seen before in 'Man of Steel'

America's iconic superhero is resurrected once again. This summer, prepare to be kept on the edge of your seat by "Man of Steel". Despite the lack of hype, this reboot of the Superman film series is poised to be one of the best movies of this year. The main reason? It comes from the creative vision of producer Christopher Nolan, the man behind the massive hit of "he Dark Knight" trilogy, while its action scenes get the magic touch of director Zack Snyder, the man behind "300" and "Watchmen". Added into the mix is "The Tudors" actor Henry Cavill who gives a new look to the beloved Clark Kent. While many are concerned that this movie will be too dark, Snyder promises, "You're going to see a Superman you've never seen before."

World War Z

Release date: June 21  Brad Pitt travels around the world to stop the zombie outbreak

"A zombie movie with its own twist." That is the premise of "World War Z". Adapted from author Max Brooks' novel "An Oral History of the Zombie War", this apocalyptic horror film follows United Nations employee Gerry Lane as he travels the world and interviews survivors of the zombie apocalypse. It teams up "Machine Gun Preacher" director Marc Forster and Academy Award-nominee Brad Pitt. Though it will be less gory and bloody than any other typical zombie movies, audience can expect something new, fresh and different as Foster points out one in particular during an interview, "You haven't seen that in a zombie movie before: An outbreak on an airplane."

The Heat

Release date: June 28  Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy play unlikely partners in a buddy-cop movie

What will you get when an uptight Miss Congeniality meets a badass Bridesmaid? The answer is simple, "The Heat". In a genre most often dominated by men, this buddy-cop movie teams up Academy Award-winner Sandra Bullock and rising star Melissa McCarthy for a comic relief as the two actresses deliver their best portrayal of an unlikely duo who are looking to take down a ruthless drug lord. With "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig tying the two together, it may well be one hell of a fun ride. And if the trailers are truly a reflection of this comedy flick, moviegoers can expect to find laugh-out-loud moments throughout.
