'Celebrity Apprentice' Recap: Brande Roderick Takes the Fall for Lil Jon's Mistake
TV

Stepping up as project manager for Team Power, Roderick has herself to blame for her team's failure to win this week's challenge of promoting South Africa tourism.

AceShowbiz - The new outing of "The Celebrity Apprentice" saw Team Power and Plan B using their knowledge of South Africa to create an interactive travel expo to showcase five South African experiences. In the April 21 episode, this season's first ousted contestant Bret Michaels returned as one of Donald Trump's advisors.

Brande Roderick stepped up to lead Team Power. Following Lil Jon's suggestion, the team chose to promote the adventure package, which later required Marilu Henner to push attendees on a desk chair in an attempt to simulate zip-lining and Jon to get dressed in a shark costume. Their expo apparently turned out to be "juvenile," which, according to The South Africa Tourism executives, was supposed to be "at an amusement park."

Plan B, meanwhile, showcased a two-person performance from Penn Jillette and Lisa Rinna as their leader Gary Busey seemed to do "almost nothing" for his team. Tasked to promote the romance package, the team eventually got Paul Simon's bassist and drummer from his album "Graceland", Zulu dancers, and South African food for their expo. As the result, the expo looked much more professional than Team Power's.

Thanks to the "juvenile" concept pulled by Team Power, Plan B was announced as the winner of the challenge, and their project manager Jillette was awarded $40,000 for charity of his choice, Opportunity Village in Las Vegas. On the other hand, Roderick had to come up with two names to return to the boardroom.

Roderick's decision to let Jon leave the room and keep Trace Adkins and Henner around surprised Trump as he believed that the rapper should have been fired for suggesting the team to go for the adventure package. The business mogul had no other choice but to fire Roderick and kindly gave $20,000 to her charity, Promises 2 Kids for severely abused and neglected kids in foster homes.
