The 'Vanilla Sky' actress is in early talks to reunite with her 'Bad Teacher' co-star Jason Segel and director Jake Kasdan in the Sony comedy.

AceShowbiz - Sony Pictures may set a "Bad Teacher" reunion for Cameron Diaz as the "Charlie's Angels" star is reportedly in early negotiations to join the studio's upcoming film "Sex Tape". If they close the deal, she will reunite with actor Jason Segel and director Jake Kasdan.

Diaz is expected to play the female lead, the wife of Segel's character. In the story penned by Kate Angelo, the two are a married couple who take a night off from their kids and decide to spice up their love life by making a sex tape. The tape is however missing the next day, forcing the couple to track the culprit and get the tape back.

Diaz has been mentioned as a possible co-star since the studio and Segel reached an agreement. Reese Witherspoon was once said to be the frontrunner for the role. Other names who were also in the mix to be the female lead were Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, Rose Byrne and Jennifer Garner.

Before Kasdan was tapped as the helmer, the studio first approached "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" helmer Nicholas Stoller. However, no deal was eventually finalized.

A high priority project at Sony, the film will be overseen by Sony executives Andrea Giannetti and Adam Milano.
