As representatives for The Wanted issued a statement confirming the "unforeseen hiatus" that Sykes would be taking after his unfortunate hospital date, so did his fellow band members Siva Kaneswaran, Max George, Jay McGuiness, and Tom Parker, post a message on their Facebook page. "Our lil Nath has to go in for an operation on his throat, on his birthday to make him better. So please join us in wishing our brother and our friend well. Get well soon Nath, we love ya!" the guys wrote.

The statement went on to read, "The priority for Nathan, his label and management is that he is given time to recover and receive the best treatment possible." Over on their Twitter account, the rest of the group acknowledged fans' outpouring of support for Sykes, saying, "We will be passing on all your words of support and love, it means the world to him and you definitely help us all through this #GetWellNath."

With Sykes out for the rest of their promo tour, the remaining four members will continue on with their shows and appearances across the world, fulfilling their previously set promotional commitments.
