Brit becomes part of the soundtrack for the sequel of the 2011 hit flick as she records the 'Smurftastic' new song.

AceShowbiz - Pop superstar Britney Spears has recorded a new song for "The Smurfs 2", the sequel to the 2011 hit live-action/animation hybrid flick "Smurf", which also features Katy Perry as the voice of Smurfette. Written and produced mainly by Spears' "Femme Fatale" collaborator Dr. Luke along with a host of other talented music makers, the track will be played during the end credits of the new movie.

"Remember that surprise song I recorded for my boys? It's coming soon! #OohLaLa for #TheSmurfs2 :) Stay tuned for more," the 31-year-old singer tweeted. It may get released before the movie, which stars returning cast members Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara, and Hank Azaria as the story's villain Gargamel, hits theatres on July 31.

Spears is excited to be part of the movie soundtrack especially since her boys Sean Preston and Jayden James are big Smurfs fans. "I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans EVER. I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie. I know they'll think it's Smurftastic!" she gushed.

"Smurfs 2" director Raja Gosnell is thrilled to have Spears onboard the project as well, saying, "I am very excited that Britney is joining our Smurfy adventure. 'Ooh La La' is the perfect Smurf-party song, and the perfect button on the film for audiences around the world."
