Admitting it's a 'difficult decision,' the 'Breathe' hitmaker thinks 'it's time 2 let someone else rock the open' of the NBC sports program.

AceShowbiz - Faith Hill will no longer sing the opening theme song of "Sunday Night Football". On Monday, April 15, the wife of singer/songwriter Tim McGraw took to Twitter to announce that she left the show, where she sang "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" set to the tune of Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself for Loving You" for the past six years.

"Amazing 2 have been part of SNF - an honor. I've just let everyone there know it's time 2 let someone else rock the open," she wrote, before admitting, "....Difficult decision. Kinda emotional. Love all u guys at SNF - I'll b watching!!!"

Fred Gaudelli, lead producer at the NBC sports program, responded on Twitter, "Great love and appreciation to @FaithHill for six great years of rocking the SNF open." He also said in a statement, "We will always be grateful for her performances and friendship. We wish Faith nothing but continued success."

Hill performed the opening theme song of the network's broadcast of Sunday evening National Football League games since 2007. At the time, Gaudelli stated, "It's not often that you get the opportunity to have a mega-star like Faith Hill perform the signature open to your show."

There's still no word on who will replace the 45-year-old country music songstress. One thing for sure, the theme song won't change as Gaudelli said, "It's our anthem."
