Aldean, Eric Church and Luke Bryan are announced as the winner of Vocal Event of the Year on the red carpet, while Little Big Town nab Video of the Year and Best Vocal Group.

AceShowbiz - As country music musicians were making their way into the MGM Grand in Las Vegas where the 48th Academy of Country Music Awards is taking place, the Academy announced the winner in some categories. Those who already bagged a trophy before the telecast began included Jason Aldean and Little Big Town.

Aldean shared the Vocal Event of the Year with Eric Church and Luke Bryan for their collaboration in "The Only Way I Know", his second single from his 2012 album "Night Train". Four-piece vocal group Little Big Town nabbed Video of the Year for the "Tornado" VP, while Dallas Davidson was named Songwriter of the Year.

After hosts Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan kicked off the show by performing "Boys 'Round Here" and some other artists made live performances, NFL star Colin Kaepernick and soap-opera actress Michelle Stafford took the stage to present the first award, Vocal Duo of the Year, during the telecast. The prize went to Thompson Square.

"Well, we want to thank God for this amazing reality we live in right now," Keifer Thompson said on his acceptance speech, thanking their fans, label and his family. The group, also comprised of Keifer's wife Shawna Thompson, beat out Sugarland and Florida Georgia Line among others.

John Fogerty and Miranda Lambert later teamed up to announce Album of the Year winner. Eric Church snatched the prize with his album "Chief", edging out other strong contenders Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan and Little Big Town.

Though losing the Album of the Year title, Little Big Town managed to score another trophy that night with their win as Best Vocal Group. "Thank you for giving us this moment," said Karen Fairchild who claimed, "We're trying not to scream."

Meanwhile, Florida Georgia Line were celebrating their win as New Artist of the Year, which was voted by fans. They thanked the Lord, their team and their fans.

More winners will be announced at the 2013 ACM Awards. Fans still can vote for Entertainer of the Year.
