Selena Gomez Swatted Hours After Justin Timberlake Became New Target

Someone called 911 alarming cops about violent threats happening in Selena's house and a break-in occurring at Justin's home.

The swatting prank targeting Hollywood celebrities is getting out of control. Just a day after 's residence in Los Angeles was swatted, similar incidents targeting 's and 's houses happened.

Someone called 911 giving a bogus tip about alarming violent threats at Selena's house on Friday, April 5. The caller told the dispatcher in false frantic mode that her father shot her mother with a gun and that he was threatening to burn down the house.

The fake distressed call was received by police just hours after they got a similar hoax call informing about a break-in at Justin's home. They said 4 black males broke into the house and 2 shots were fired. The intruders then took off after leaving a box with red blinking lights.

LAPD officers were rushing to both scenes but found nothing happened.

Swatting pranks started to happen a lot last year. At the end of the year, a 12-year-old boy was arrested in connection to incidents involving the homes of and . Even after the boy was detained, the pranks didn't stop.

, and the Kardashian family were targeted in the similar hoax emergency calls this year, before RiRi joined the growing list of the victims. After Diddy was swatted, the hackers who exposed celebrities' personal data including their social security numbers and credit card info allegedly confessed they were the mastermind behind the debacle.

Having a new website with domain extension .re, they also took credit for the other pranks targeting Hilton, Kardashian, , and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, TMZ reported. They added "swatted" next to Hilton's and Diddy's names.

FBI has launched investigation into the matter, but no arrest has been made so far. The list of celebrities who got their personal info including their addresses exposed also continues to grow. Hilary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Kutcher, , , and are among them.
