AceShowbiz - It's a prom night in the third week of "Dancing with the Stars" season 16. On Monday, April 1, the remaining pairs brought back their high-school spirits to the dance floor, vying for the title of prom king and queen which would be decided via Twitter mentions. Those who are named prom king and queen will earn two extra points.
Alexandra Raisman and Mark Ballas showed up first, dancing a Viennese waltz. "Up to now, I have been really impressed by your dancing, tonight not so much," Len Goodman initially said, before revealing that his comment was just an April Fools prank. Bruno Tonioli was "swept away in a whirlwind of romance." Carrie Ann Inaba said her movement was "strong, sensual and fluid," but advised her to stay in the character more. The Olympic gymnast earned 23 points.
Playing a nerd who comes across a beautiful girl, Andy Dick danced a cha cha cha with Sharna Burgess who dressed like Catwoman. Bruno criticized the timing and placement, but added, "Entertainment value fully on." Len said Andy wasn't a good dancer, but "what you do is you make me feel good." Carrie Ann commened him for trying "with your full heart and soul." The comedian got 18 points.
Ingo Rademacher, channeling a bad boy, opened his paso doble routine with riding a motorcycle to set. Carrie Ann believed Ingo had a lot of potential and suggested him to work on his core for a better posture. Bruno said, "There's more to cheer than jeer," but Len thought it was too aggressive. The "General Hospital" star got 21 points.
Lisa Vanderpump and Gleb Savchenko danced a Viennese waltz that Len called "light and breezy, free and easy." Bruno said, "It's much better, but you missed a few passes." Carrie Ann liked watching the pair, saying, "As a unit, you're just beautiful to look at." The reality TV star earned 21 points.
Following her impressive performance last week, Kellie Pickler once again amazed the judges with her jive set to the theme of "Footloose". "You were flying about like a wasp at a picnic... You are officially the queen of the prom," Len raved. Bruno called it "crisp, tight, precise," while Carrie Ann gushed, "That was ridiculously amazing... You blew me away." The country music singer earned 25 points.
Victor Ortiz performed a contemporary number with Lindsay Arnold and got a standing ovation from Bruno, who said, "You make your partner proud." Carrie Ann gushed, "That was breathtaking." Len liked the lifts and dubbed it Victor's best dance so far. The judges gave him 23 points.
D. L. Hughley danced a salsa set to James Brown's "Sex Machine", but he failed to make Len aroused. "If you're a sex machine, I'm America's Next Top Model, I'm telling you," the head judge commented. Bruno added, "What you looked like was almost a case of hip replacement," but Carrie Ann noticed there's improvement. The funnyman earned 16 points.
Jacoby Jones danced a sultry rumba with Karina Smirnoff and earned rave reviews from the judges. Bruno said, "You were a smoldering volcano of passion," while Len liked that it "had a refinement" and "quality of movement." Carrie Ann chimed in, "That was just hot, sensual and artistic." The NFL player got 24 points.
Wynonna Judd's samba with Tony Dovolani included a stripper pole, but for Bruno it "was a bit sedated for a performance." Len said, "You're like Mount Rushmore, you look great but you don't move," while Carrie Ann commented, "We got wild outfits and wild pole dancing but the rest of the dance was like a whisper." Wynonna got 15 points, the lowest score of the night.
Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd came up next, dancing a fun cha cha cha. Len thought it's Sean's best dance so far, and Carrie Ann also liked it. Bruno said, "It was really, really full of fun," but added that Sean needed to "clean up the footwork." The latest star of "The Bachelor" got 21 points.
Zendaya Coleman wrapped it up with a Viennese waltz that she dedicated to her grandmother. Bruno described it "as charming as Venice in the moonlight." Carrie Ann said, "The emotional connection to every single move is beyond your years," but felt that "the best is yet to come." Len, however, thought "it's a bit too wafty." Zendaya earned 24 points.
The combined results of the judges scores and viewer votes will be revealed on Tuesday.
