The tension between Rick and the Governor will likely continue in the fourth season of "". According to The Hollywood Reporter, has agreed to reprise his role as the villainous leader in Woodbury and will be upped to a series regular in the forthcoming chapter.

The British actor initially only signed on for a one-season role as his character died in the comic book after he led Woodbury into battle with Rick Grimes' gang at the prison. However, [SPOILER ALERT!] Rick and co. managed to avoid the showdown and the villainous character is still alive at the end of the third season finale.

"Do I want to keep David Morrissey? Yes! Do we? I can't tell you," executive producer Gale Anne Hurd recently talked about the Governor's fate on the show. "There are so many colors to his performance. In the comics, he's pretty one-note, but here, he's got so much more humanity."

Andrea, on the other hand, wasn't as lucky as the Governor. She was killed by the Governor in the March 31 outing. Admitting that her character's death "was rather unexpected," believed the decision to kill off Andrea was "story-driven. It does propel the story forward."

She added, "I'd like to think Andrea's death will have meaning. I do love that the finale ended [with a shot of] a cross, because I feel that it's a time for new beginnings and a spiritual awakening. Let the healing begin."

Andrea is the latest character to be killed off in "The Walking Dead" season 3. 's Merle and Dallas Roberts' Milton also met the demise in the same season.

"The Walking Dead" is expected to return with the fourth season in October.
