The British-Irish boyband is dubbed Favorite Music Group, while Bieber and Perry are named Favorite Male and Female Singer respectively at the 'slimy' ceremony in Los Angeles.

AceShowbiz - British-Irish boyband One Direction, Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber and American pop diva Katy Perry are among this year's big winners at the Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards held Mach 23 at the USC Galen Center in Los Angeles. The three music acts were among many other well-loved celebrities honored at the "slimy" Saturday night awards ceremonies.

Popular group 1D won the Favorite Music Group award, winning over rock band Bon Jovi, the quartet of Big Time Rush, and the Adam Levine-fronted Maroon 5. Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne also won the Favorite Song Award for their hit "What Makes You Beautiful".

Besides Directioners, Beliebers were also sure to be ecstatic over the win of their beloved Justin Bieber who bagged the award for Favorite Male Singer over other heavy fan favorites, Bruno Mars, Blake Shelton and Usher. The recognition was good news in light of the recent troubles by the beleaguered 18-year-old since his break-up with Selena Gomez, who also won for Favorite TV Actress for her role on "Wizards of Waverly Place".

If a KCA could help bring a smile to a star's face, Katy Perry could very well make use of one nowadays after her fresh split from blues singer/guitarist John Mayer. The quirky pop superstar got the Favorite Female Singer Award, besting hitmaker and chart-topper Taylor Swift, Grammy Award winner Adele and pop rock diva Pink.
