John Mayer to Go on First Tour in Three Years
Music

Within days after splitting with Katy Perry, the 'Your Body Is a Wonderland' singer announces he is ready to tour again.

AceShowbiz - Pop and blues artist John Mayer happily announced that he would be performing live again on the road, embarking on his first major concert tour in three years after the throat problem that caused him to go on a vocal break has finally healed. The slated tour will be in support of his 2012 album "Born and Raised", kicking off on July 6 at Milwaukee's Summerfest and will run until October.

For four months, the 35-year-old singer will be playing in 40 cities in four countries. He will trek across the U.S. to such places as Red Rocks in Colorado on July 16 and at the Hollywood Bowl on October 5 and will even go abroad to perform at the Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina on September 17 and in Rock in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on September 21.

"American Idol" season eleven big winner Phillip Phillips will serve as front act for the singer/songwriter. The concerts will benefit returning veterans as a dollar from each ticket sold will go to the Northern California Institute for Research and Education, a leading non-profit organization devoted to advancing veterans' health research.

Before his tour, Mayer will warm up at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheatre on April 25 and at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival on April 26. Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that the crooner broke up with girlfriend Katy Perry before he embarks on a grueling tour again, since it would definitely be tough on their relationship if one of them were to be away for quite some time while on the road performing.
