'CSI' Renewed for 14th Season, Ted Danson and Other Main Stars to Return

Danson's contract is extended for two more years, as Elisabeth Shue, George Eads and more cast members renew their deals with the CBS crime series.

CBS has ordered a new season of "", bringing back the show for a 14th installment. Along with the show's renewal, the stars including , and extend their deal with the procedural drama series.

"CSI is synonymous with CBS, and we are so proud of the series' creative and commercial legacy and its continued success on our Network," says Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment.

Tassler continues, "The writers and producers have done an amazing job evolving CSI, reinventing the show around an incredible leading man in Ted Danson, the acclaimed Elisabeth Shue and our beloved and talented core of original cast members."

CBS Television Studios president David Stapf adds, "CSI is one of the top global franchises and is seen in almost every country in the world. It defined feature television and its whodunnit storytelling captured audiences since the day it premiered."

"We are fortunate to have had Carol Mendelsohn's creative vision at the helm since the inception, as well as the talents of her partner Don McGill. The addition of Ted Danson has infused new energy into the series, and we couldn't be more thrilled with its continued worldwide success."

Danson's new deal is for two more years, making sure he'll return should the show get a 15th season. Other cast members who will return to the new season are , , , , , Elisabeth Harnois, and Jon Wellner.

"CSI" has been a strong player on CBS since its premiere. The current season 13 has averaged 11.85 million viewers and a 2.9 rating in 18-49 demographic so far. It regularly wins its Wednesdays at 10 P.M.. slot in total viewers and in the adults demo.

The global hit show recently nabbed the International TV Audience Award for the most watched show in the world for the third consecutive year, and fifth time in seven years.
