While Zendaya gets rave reviews for her contemporary dance, D.L. Hughley doesn't get love from the judges as he earns the lowest score of the night.

AceShowbiz - "Dancing with the Stars" officially kicked off its 16th season on Monday, March 18. Twelve pairs took turn to dance either a cha cha cha, or a foxtrot or a contemporary on the first night, but there won't be a results show until March 26, after all of them dance again next Monday.

Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough got the first turn, dancing a cha cha cha to Jesse J's "Domino". "That was fun," Len Goodman commented, as Bruno Tonioli said he "can't wait to see [her] again." Carrie Ann Inaba advised Kellie to keep "up a bit more." The "American Idol" alumna got 21 out of 30 points.

Victor Ortiz and Lindsay Arnold danced a foxtrot, and the judges were divided in their reviews. Carrie Ann said he did a "good job," and Bruno said the boxer was "surprisingly light-footed" for "heavy hitter," but Len thought it "was a little bit uneventful." Nevertheless, all three judges agreed to give Victor 6 points for a total of 18.

Ingo Rademacher and Kym Johnson performed a contemporary number. Once again Bruno sided with Carrie Ann who said the dance "had all of it." Bruno even compared the performance with Bradley Cooper's acting in "Silver Linings Playbook". However, Len said, "I'm not convinced about that performance at all." The judges gave the "General Hospital" star 20 points.

Lisa Vanderpump and Gleb Savchenko danced a foxtrot, which Len called "acceptable," but not "exceptional." Bruno criticized her posture, blaming it on "so many rocks" around her neck. Carrie Ann though "it was very nice, and easy on the eyes" overall. The reality TV star earned 18 points.

D. L. Hughley might easily make people laught, but he's clearly not a good dancer. His cha cha cha with pro partner Cheryl Burke only earned 12, which was the lowest score of the night. "You have terminated the cha cha cha," Bruno said. Len added, "This was no good."

On the other hand, Zendaya Coleman managed to impress the judges. She danced a contemporary number with Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Carrie Ann called her "a fantastic dancer." Len gushed, "That was great." She earned 24 points.

Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd performed a playful foxtrot. Len said, "It lacked finesse," but he liked Sean's posture. Bruno commented, "For a dance virgin, you have a very good pelvic thrust," and told "The Bachelor" star to "refine" his act. Carrie Ann chimed in, "I liked it rough!" Sean got 19 points.

Alexandra Raisman and Mark Ballas danced a cha cha cha. Bruno said, "Really surprising, very inspiring," as Carrie noted there's "a lot of potential." Len loved the "vitality," but told her that her legs needed to be "crisper." The Olympic gymnast got 21 points.

Dorothy Hamill and Tristan McMannus delivered a "golden" performance with her contemporary number, Carrie Ann said. "Such a beautiful dance, well-done," Len raved, with Bruno adding, "As a performance, really really good." The figure skater earned 21 points.

Country music star Wynonna Judd and her partner Tony Dovolani danced a cha cha cha to "I've Got the Music in Me". Len said it was "a little bit careful," but still called it "a good performance." Bruno and Carrie Ann urged her to go more for it. The singer earned 18 points.

Andy Dick had a breakdown during rehearsals. He and Sharna Burgess danced a foxtrot. Len said it had "moments of a sophistication," but lacked "fluidity." Carrie Ann commented, "You reminded me of watching the ugly duckling come to life," and asked him to work on "pancake hands and pancake feet." Bruno added, "I really enjoyed it in a very crazy way." The comedian got 17 points.

Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff were the last pair to perform that night, delivering a cha cha cha. "It was kind of like a big old medley of touchdown dances," Carrie Ann said. Len thought the "technique was terrible," while Bruno said, "You can grind it... but you have to really work on your foot placement." The NFL star earned 20 points.
