Emma Watson Denies 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Casting Rumors
Movie

The 'Perks of Being a Wallflower' star makes it clear that she won't star in the film adapted from E. L. James' novel of the same title.

AceShowbiz - Emma Watson took to Twitter on Saturday, March 16 to slam the rumors that she was going to play Anastasia Steele in upcoming movie "Fifty Shades of Grey". The 22-year-old star wasn't interested in doing the film in spite of reports she was cast in the lead role.

"Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life," Emma tweeted. She later sent out a tweet featuring just a question mark. "Good. Well that's that sorted then," she added.

This isn't the first time Emma addressed reports that she's going to star in the movie adapted from a novel by E. L. James. Words that she could star in the film first began circulating summer 2012, but Emma was quick to shoot the reports down.

"I haven't read the book, I haven't a read a script, nothing," she said at that time. "There are so many movies you become attached to when I've literally never even received a phone call. I never even saw a script!"

The rumors resurfaced after a hacker team hacked into the internal server of German studio Constantin Film. They stole a document that reportedly showed that Emma was attached to the film.

For now, "Fifty Shades of Grey" hasn't tapped its lead stars and director. Actors such as Ian Somerhalder, Ryan Gosling, and Alexander Skarsgard have been suggested to play Christian Grey, but nothing has been confirmed.

The film will follow Anastasia, the virginal college grade ripe at the center of the story, and Christian, the wealthy, handsome masochistic businessman with emotional issues, who takes a liking to her and introduces her to the world of bondage and kinky sex.

Universal and Focus Features plan to release the film during the summer of 2014.
