FOX Renews 'The Following', 'New Girl', 'Mindy Project' and 'Raising Hope'

The network orders 15 new episodes of the Kevin Bacon-starring thriller series and is currently in negotiations with studio about the fifth season of 'Glee'.

FOX has given new season orders to its four shows, "", "", "" and "". The freshman serial killer thriller starring will return for a second season consisting of 15 new episodes.

"From the very beginning, we felt Kevin Williamson and Marcos Siega had created a high-quality, edge-of-your-seat drama that could break from the pack, and it is exciting to see the audience responding," says Kevin Reilly, FOX's Chairman of Entertainment.

"Kevin Bacon and have given us two of the most compelling characters on television and the entire cast is incredible. I'm delighted to have this thrill ride continue on FOX for another season."

Sophomore comedy "New Girl" will be back for a third season, "Mindy Project" is renewed for a second installment, while "Raising Hope" will return for a fifth season. Reilly says of these three comedies, "We love working with these talented producers and casts who, week after week, create some of the funniest work on television."

He adds, "These shows are creatively vibrant, they have established a loyal and passionate audience and they will continue to define and grow the FOX comedy brand next season and beyond."

FOX is also expected to order a fifth season of "", but negotiations between the network and studio are still ongoing. Meanwhile, "" which is moved to Fridays in its second season may not return for a third season, but the network insists no decision has been made on the -starring drama.

Hot on the heels of its renewal, "The Mindy Project" has cast in a multi-episode arc. The "Boys Don't Cry" star and "" alumna will portray Christina, the ex-wife of 's Danny, who is described as a well-traveled war photographer who's been with some intimidating men in exotic locales. She plans a romantic dinner with Danny, but gets disappointed when something suddenly comes up.
