Preview of Mariah Carey's New Song 'Almost Home' From 'Oz: The Great and Powerful'

The soundtrack will be released in full on February 19 with a David LaChapelle-directed music video to follow later on.



Mariah Carey's soon-to-be-released song called "Almost Home" has been teased in a snippet. The track is recorded as a theme song for Disney's new fantasy movie "Oz: The Great and Powerful" that stars James Franco, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz among others.

The "American Idol" judge belts out inspiring lyrics with her big voice on the triumphant soundtrack. She co-produced it with Stargate and co-wrote with Simone Porter, Justin Gray, Lindsey Ray, Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Eriksen.

" 'Almost Home' has a message that works beautifully with the film," says the wife of Nick Cannon. "It's a feel-good record, evoking the feeling of reaching your home and being with people that you love."

The song will be fully released on iTunes starting February 19 with a music video directed by fashion photographer David LaChapelle to follow later on. The Sam Raimi-directed movie itself will hit theaters across the country o March 8.
