'American Idol' Reveals the Top 40, Angela Miller Stands Out

Angela, who wows the judges with a performance of original song 'You Set Me Free', is among the Top 20 girls.

"" narrowed it down to 40 in a Thursday, February 14 episode. The remaining girls sang once again before the judges announced the Top 20 girls and Angela Miller set the bar high when she sang an original song "You Set Me Free" behind a grand piano. exclaimed, "Good Lord!" as the other judges could be heard saying, "Wow," over and over again.

Candice Glover was equally impressive with her rendition of ' "Girl on Fire". Country girl Janelle Arthur and Melinda Ademi also wowed the judges, but Zoanette Johnson made a risky move when she sang a song which she just wrote. Still, praised her talent, "I am bowing down of your feet today."

Shubha Vedula, Juliana Chahayed and Kree Harrison were among those got rave reviews from the judges. Ashlee Feliciano was under the weather, but she gave it all during her performance and it amazed . "Bold song choice," he said.

Unfortunately, Ashlee didn't make the cut. Kiara Lanier and some other girls were also eliminated, leaving 21 ladies. Then the judges asked a few of them to sing again, with Stephanie Schimel opting to cover ' "Home" and Rachel Hale going with "Undone". Rachel defeated Stephanie in scoring a spot in the Top 20 females.

The remaining 28 guys were then called onto the stage to learn their fate, but the judges hadn't made up their mind on some singing hopefuls so they asked them to sing once again. Adam Sanders sang a number, but he couldn't hit the high note so he asked the band to lower it a step.

Josh Holiday sang "Georgia" and he ripped his tight pants when he bended on stage. Josh advanced, while Adam and seven other guys were sent packing that night.

Next week, "Idol" moves to Las Vegas and only 20 contestants will stay after this round.
