Katie Holmes Cancels Fashion Presentation Due to Blizzard Nemo

The 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark' actress had to skip New York Fashion Week on Friday, February 8 to pick up Suri from school, which closed early because of the winter weather.

AceShowbiz - Winter storm Nemo which hit the East Coast has affected activities in several cities in the U.S. along the easternmost coast. After Marc Jacobs was forced to postpone his New York Fashion Week show due to the blizzard, Katie Holmes had to cancel a fashion presentation on Friday, February 8.

The ex-wife of Tom Cruise was supposed to show off her new fashion line with designer Jeanne Yang. However, when Suri's school closed early due to the winter weather, she decided to skip the Fashion Week event in NY and pick up her daughter.

Holmes had presented the latest collection for her Holmes & Yang fashion line in a New York City hotel suite on Thursday night. Yang said of their goal, "You want to look good, but Katie and I always talk about this, it should never come at the cost of comfort."

Meanwhile, new mom Snooki was busy shovelling snow from her driveway. The former "Jersey Shore" star posted on Instagram pictures of her donning an animal-printed coat outside her home. A caption of the photo read, "That's right! My ass shoveling the driveway."

Some other celebrities have taken to Twitter to react to the blizzard Nemo. Ellen DeGeneres and La Toya Jackson reminded people to stay safe. The former wrote, "I hope everyone stays safe on the East Coast during the blizzard. In other news, #Nemo is trending. That movie really is a classic," while the latter tweeted, "To those on the East coast in the path of the Storm, New York, New Jersey, Boston, Philadelphia & Road Island! Please be safe & stay warm!"

Justin Bieber hinted that the blizzard wouldn't affect his schedule for "Saturday Night Live". He wrote, "up real early today for a LONG DAY of rehearsals. and now a blizzard is coming. no issue. Im Canadian."

Shenae Grimes tweeted, "Trying to look cute for fashion week while getting whipped in the face with hail is kiiinda tough #whyblizzard?!" Peter Facinelli, who also took part in the Fashion Week, posted, "In NY going to the Nautica Fashion Show. It's Snaining outside.(Snow + Raining) Glad the show is indoors."

Brooklyn Decker complained about the weather, "Sleeting in LA, blizzard in NYC... Sheesh.. Get me back to Texas," as Sarah Hyland jokingly warned, "Snow... I love you but if you keep me from getting back to California I will have to take to drastic measures..."
