The film project may begin production this spring, Wahlberg says, adding that it could be released sometime in April or May next year.

AceShowbiz - Just a day after it was confirmed that Warner Bros. Pictures gave green light to "Entourage" movie, executive producer Mark Wahlberg takes time to share some updates and details of the long-developed project. To MTV News, he opens up about how the project finally got greenlit.
"[Series creator] Doug [Ellin] wanted to go off to do another show, and HBO liked the idea of doing it, but to have Doug actually have time to sit down and write the script ... I always knew the fans wanted a movie," the lead actor of upcoming "Transformers 4" says.
"Everywhere I'd go, people are always asking me, 'What about 'Entourage'? What about 'Entourage'? When's the movie coming?' So it just took a long time," he goes. "It took a long time to get it written, get it right, and we got a fantastic script. Warner Bros. is very excited about it. All the guys are excited. Getting everybody in the same place at the same time has been tough as well."
Furthermore, Wahlberg confirms that the film adaptation of the hit HBO dramedy series may kick off filming in spring. He dishes, "Spring or summer. May, June, depending on scheduling. But hopefully as soon as possible." Of the release schedule, he says, "I mean, either a summer movie or a fall movie, depending. But I like the summer. I like April, May [next year]."
When asked where the original characters will stand in the movie following the end of the show, the "Ted" star declines to spill any tidbits. "You know what, I don't know if I can give anything away," he insists. "I haven't really spoken to anybody about that particular thing. I think I can certainly get back to you about that."
Last but not least, the actor is open to the idea of him making a cameo in the upcoming film. "You know me, man. If they want me, I'm in. I'm listening in, buddy," he claims.
The original "Entourage" series revolved around themes of male friendship and followed real-life situations in modern-day Hollywood. The show was famously known for its array of guest stars that included at least two famous persons in each episode. The popular TV show aired from 2004 to 2011.
For the movie version, creator Doug Ellin will serve as the helmer and writer. The original cast members, including Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven, are expected to return.
