After kidnapping the 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' host ahead of his scheduled appearance, the 'Contagion' actor takes over the ABC show with the help from Ben Affleck, Sarah Silverman and more.

AceShowbiz - Matt Damon has got his revenge on Jimmy Kimmel. After a decade of "running out of time" excuse made by the talk show host, the actor took over "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Thursday, January 24, during which he was scheduled to make his first official appearance as a guest.

Hours before the episode aired, a video promoting Damon's appearance showed him kidnapping Kimmel. "Tonight you didn't run out of time for me. Did you Jimmy? No I ran out of time for you," the "Saving Private Ryan" star said in a creepy tone.

"What's that Jimmy? Is there, is there a new host in town? And his initials are M.D. That's right, the doctor is in," he continued, standing next Kimmel who was gagged and strapped to a chair.

Later that night, Damon stood in as a host on Kimmel's show. "Just for starters, let me ask you guys this: 'As an audience, is it weird to see a person with actual talent host this show?' " he stated. "I've been waiting for this moment for a long, long time...This is like the time I lost my virginity, except this is going to last way longer than 1 second."

He made several changes to the show, including replacing the band leader Cleto Escobedo III with Sheryl Crow. Robin Williams, meanwhile, showed up to deliver that night's monologue. Damon even got well wishes from Jennifer Lopez, Sally Field, John Krasinski, Robert De Niro, Don Cheadle and Oprah Winfrey.

"You have a gift, my friend," the former daytime talk show queen said. "Not everybody can host a show. I know that is true. Great job." However, Ben Affleck, who is Damon's best friend, refused to take part in Damon's avenge plot.

He held up cue cards which branded Kimmel as funny, smart, good to his family and "an excellent lover." "I'm sorry! Forget it, Matt, I couldn't do it to Jimmy!" Affleck claimed, to which Damon responded, "He doesn't even love you like I love you! You'll see!"

Revealing how the "feud" between them started, Damon shared, "Jimmy always wanted to be an actor and, unfortunately for him, I beat him out for every role he ever truly wanted. Jimmy has auditioned for every movie I've ever been in, every single one of them. How many did he get? None. So, he hates me."

Damon even brought Sarah Silverman, Kimmel's ex-girlfriend, as his final guest that night. The Academy Award-winning actor also promised to ungag Kimmel in the last minutes, but then said, "Wait. I'm sorry. We're out of time."
