The younger sister of singer/actress Jessica Simpson drops the clip for her latest track since her 2008 album 'Bittersweet World'.

AceShowbiz - Ashlee Simpson has just released the full video of "Bat for a Heart" after she premiered the song and revealed a preview of the video on her own official website in late 2012. "My full video of Bat for a Heart is up look out for my app next!" the 28-year-old singer wrote on Twitter, referring to the new clip which was filmed to support the song, which marks her return to recording since releasing her third album "Bittersweet World" back in 2008.

Ashlee, following the same singing-and-acting route to fame of her celebrity sister Jessica Simpson, appears in the black-and-white clip donning platinum blonde locks. She puts on make-up then wears a mask over her eyes as she stares at herself in the mirror before dancing on tiptoes in her underwear in front of a padded wall.

Not only does Ashlee look edgier in this new music video but she also sounds different from her previous work. Her new track also has some pretty straightforward lyrics: "(hook) I'm gonna bang bang, f**k you up / Twist you out inside of my head; (verse) My hands are stained from my dirty black hair / My heart is cursed cause you were never there / Another crime that you left behind / I'm just a name that fear of the time."

Ashlee's short recording hiatus followed her marriage to musician Pete Wentz in April 2008 and a pregnancy immediately after. She divorced Wentz in 2011, citing irreconcilable differences. She's working on her fourth album, with some of the tracks already completed, saying that the new album will have a "folk feel" and that "the sound is a little soulful, a little electronic."
