'American Idol' Alumna Jessica Sanchez to Release Debut Album in February

The singer, who finished second in the eleventh season of 'Idol', is ready to come out with her album's debut track next month, gushing that it will be 'perfect for the fans.'

After "" season eleven winner debuted his chart-topping album "" last year, it's now runner-up 's turn to release her own studio set. With "Idol" soon returning to TV screens for season 12, Sanchez revealed that she had been working on her debut album since touring with the rest of last season's Top 10.

"I've been working on my album since the 'Idol' tour and I just finished it up," the young belter announced, saying she's getting ready to release her debut single this February. Her first single is reportedly a duet with R'n'B crooner , who is also one of the producers/songwriters who have worked on the upcoming album.

Asked about the long time it takes to release her debut album, Sanchez told MTV News, "I wanted to make it perfect for the fans. I've worked in the studio before, but going to that next level with such high producers? It was crazy ... working with Ne-Yo. Everything was such a blur and I was just a fangirl the whole time."

Despite the long wait, fans will soon get to hear the 16 tracks that the 17-year-old singer has come up with song masters Toby Gad (, ), Harvey Mason Jr. (, ) and Rykeyz (, ).

"It's me, soulful, but more dancey," Sanchez said of her work. "It's all completely me," she explained the upbeat, mainstream pop disc with an R&B edge. "And I'm excited about all of it," she gushed. While fans eagerly await her recording debut, they can catch her in upcoming episodes of "".
