'The Bachelor' Week 2 Recap: A Retreat and a Prank
When "The Bachelor" returned with the second episode of season 17, Sean Lowe began the dates with the girls. Sarah was the lucky one who got the first one-on-one date with the hunky guy.
They were whisked away by a helicopter and landed on a rooftop. Sean told the 26-year-old ad executive that they were going to free fall 300 feet. Once they arrived on the ground, they celebrated it with a toast.
Sean and Sarah later met for a dinner. She said that she was upset that she couldn't go zip-lining because of her disability, and said it meant a lot that Sean had "faith" in her to do the free-falling. Sean then gave her a rose and they sealed it with a kiss.
Next, Sean had a group date with Kristy, Amanda, Brooke, Lesley M., Daniella, Catherine, Robyn, Katie, Selma, Diana, Taryn, Kacie B. and Tierra. They met at a mansion for a photo shoot, and a girl who had the best chemistry with Sean would land a three-book cover deal with Harlequin.
The girls dressed in different costumes, including a cowboy look for Lesley and a vampire makeover for Jackie. During the photo shoot, the girls complained about Tierra who showed different attitudes when she was around the other girls than she did when she's with Sean.
Meanwhile, Katie opened up, "I feel excessively uncomfortable here. I'm not going to compete. I'm going to retreat." She shared her feelings to Sean and the bachelor walked her out. At the end of the date, Kacie B. got a rose, prompting Tierra to say, "I wanted to punch her." However, it was Kristy, a model from Wisconsin, who won the cover book deal.
Desiree got the last date card in the episode, not knowing that she was going to be a victim of a prank. Sean took her to a fake art gallery exhibit and left her alone in a room. Suddenly, a million-dollar artwork fell down and broke into pieces.
"I didn't touch it," Desiree said, trying to convince a fake artist who was cursing at her. Sean then came out and revealed it was a joke.
Desiree later got a sweet treat from Sean who invited her to enjoy a home cooked meal at his pad. They later got into a hot tub and talked about love and marriage. Sean gave her a rose and they kissed.
At a cocktail party, Amanda was being secluded, but got cheered up once Sean talked to her. The insurance agent also assured Robyn that he didn't go for a certain type of girl and he had no problem dating girls from various ethnicities. His last girlfriend was, in fact, black.
When it was time for rose ceremony, AshLee, Lindsay, Robyn, Jackie, Lesley M., Selma, Catherine, Kristy, Leslie H., Tierra, Taryn, Daniella and Amanda were called to receive the roses. Diana and Brooke got the boot, with the former tearfully saying, "I think Sean was great and I was willing to stay and get to know him but it just wasn't enough. It's a lot to take in."
