Jennifer Lawrence, Adele, Bradley Cooper and More React to Their Oscar Noms

Hugh Jackman, Benh Zeitlin, Ang Lee, Seth MacFarlane and Quvenzhane Wallis are among the other nominees who share their excitement upon learning that they will compete at the 2013 Academy Awards.

The big moment in early January when the Oscar nominees were announced has passed. Those who snatched the nods at world's most prestigious film awards event couldn't be happier with their nominations as they quickly released statements to express their excitement of being in contention at the 85th Academy Awards. Among those reacting to the Oscar noms were , , and .

Lawrence, who bagged her second Best Actress nom thanks to her role in "", enthused, "I'm so honored and grateful for this nomination and to be in the company of such talented actresses." Lawrence will have to compete with , , and child actress .

"Having the fortunate opportunity to work with [director] David O. Russell was an extraordinary gift and I am so thrilled for my fellow cast members Bradley Cooper, and who are all nothing short of amazing," she added. "This was a labor of love that we all poured our hearts into and could not be more thankful to The Weinstein Company and Harvey Weinstein for their unyielding support of the film."

Lawrence's "Silver Linings" co-star, Cooper, shared the same excitement with the actress as he secured the Best Actor nomination. "Seeing David O. get that nom...man I kinda lost it," he said when stopping by "" show following the announcement. "It's like 4:30 in the morning and I'm puttering around the house, and I got my mom up and then my dog, and then we were watching it. So it was pretty by the book, waiting with bated breath."

Another Best Actor contender, Jackman, gushed, "I hadn't planned to listen live to the announcements, but when I got into the car this morning to go to work, the driver had the nominations streaming as they were being broadcast. To be honest, it's very exciting but all a bit surreal, and it hasn't fully sunk in yet."

The "" leading man went, "This is a brilliant awards year that has been defined by an eclectic list of stories that have been told by incredibly talented and courageous filmmakers, and it's an honor to be mentioned in the same sentence as the other nominees in the Best Actor category. Having hosted the show, I have seen so many different sides of the Oscars, but to be an actual nominee is something I never would have dreamed possible."

When the Oscar noms were announced, many people were shocked as Quvenzhane Wallis was mentioned as one of the Best Actress competitors for the fact that she's only 9 years old and had no acting experience before being cast in "". Reacting to her surprising nomination, Wallis said, "Everyone who made Beasts happen i so happy!"

Wallis, who became the youngest star ever to receive a nomination for Oscar's Best Actress and whose name quickly became a worldwide trending on Twitter upon the announcement, added, "Thank you to all you Oscar folks, from me, my mom and my dad. I am so happy for Benh [Zeitlin] and [screenwriter] Lucy [Alibar] and the gang in Louisiana. Meeting all these great new people is one of the best parts for me. I want to thank my family, friends, fans and everyone so much. Beast it!"

"Beasts" helmer, Benh Zeitlin, who also snatched the Best Director nod despite the fact that he's a first time filmmaker, also weighed in on his nomination, "I feel like my house just crashed on the yellow brick road and everything just turned color. So proud Quvenzhane and Lucy and of my whole ragtag band of warriors. I got to especially thank the members of the Academy for coming out for a movie made about as far from Hollywood as you can get. I think it's a beautiful thing for independent filmmaking and for creative freedom everywhere."

Another Best Director nominee, Ang Lee, stated, "I am deeply honored and frankly a little overwhelmed by all of the nominations that '' has received this morning. So many talented people gave everything they had to this film, both in front of and behind the camera, and to see all of them receive this kind of recognition is something I am incredibly grateful for."

Meanwhile, British singer Adele couldn't be happier when her song "Skyfall" was included in the Best Original Song category. "Oh my god I feel like !! Thank you x," she shared on Twitter. Same went to host whose "" song would be competing with Adele's song. He said, "First an Oscar nomination, then I find a basically brand-new queen mattress on my drive home. This is an incredible day."

The 2013 Academy Awards announced its full nominations on Thursday morning, January 10. Steven Spielberg's "" bagged the most nods with 12 in total. The highly-anticipated awards show will be held on February 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood & Highland Center. It will be broadcast live on the ABC Television Network in more than 225 countries.
