Movie

Bay additionally hints that there might be 'Transformers 5' and '6' as stating, 'This Transformers will feel very different than the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy.'

AceShowbiz - The mystery behind who's going to be the new young lead in "Transformers 4" has finally been resolved. Director Michael Bay himself has officially announced that rising star Jack Reynor has nabbed the coveted job to star opposite Mark Wahlberg in the fourth autobot war movie.

Taking to his official site on Tuesday, January 8, Bay wrote, "I just hired a great new actor for Transformers 4 to star against Mark Wahlberg." He went, "Jack Reynor, he is an Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket. Pretty ballsy. Seriously who does that? Anyway I spotted him in a great little Irish movie WHAT RICHARD DID. This kid is the real deal."

The announcement confirmed previous rumor shared by IFTN last month that Irish star Reynor was offered to lead "T4" because Bay was so impressed by the actor's performance in "What Richard Did". Rumor has it, the "Armageddon" helmer had also tested four other young stars for the coveted part.

Apart from announcing Reynor's casting, Bay shared major details of the future of the "Transformers" film franchise. "Transformers 4, is not a reboot," he claimed. "That word has been floating around on the net. This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago. The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast."

Bay went on teasing that the fourth installment could be the beginning of a new "Transformers" trilogy. He stated, "This Transformers will feel very different than the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy."

Futher details of "Transformers 4" are still kept secret, but the movie is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on June 26, 2014.
