The pop rock singer covers the Alabama hit 'Angels Among Us' for the victims of the Sandy Hook shooting in Connecticut.

AceShowbiz - Singer-songwriter and actress Demi Lovato dedicated a moving rendition of the Alabama hit track "Angels Among Us" to the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut last December 14. An anti-bullying spokesperson known for her charitable work and involvement in social and environmental causes, she's once again using her powerful voice to raise awareness for wearenewtown.org, an organization formed to raise funds for the victims of the Newtown, Connecticut shooting and their grieving families.

The music video for "The X Factor (US)" judge's cover opens with a loving dedication to the 20 school children and 6 adults who were killed in the shooting rampage. "We can never imagine what the families in Newtown, C.T. are experiencing right now. And while there is nothing we can do to replace their loss, we can stand together and support them during this difficult time," she says. "This song is in honor of those angels we lost on Dec. 14."

Accompanied only by a pianist and an acoustic guitar in a set filled with lit candles, the 20-year-old singer delivered a touching performance. The Disney-bred star's usual rock vocals and belt-out style almost broke at some points throughout the song, obviously overcome with emotion.

Lovato is one of many artists who have paid tribute to the victims of the tragedy. In the recently concluded "The X Factor (US)", the contestants performed Michael Jackson's "You Are Not Alone", while in the recent finale of "The Voice", judges Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Cee-Lo Green sang "Hallelujah" for the victims of the horrible massacre.
